Are the Blackberries sold in the Nertherlands locked?

Hi everyone,

I live in Belgium, but I'd like to get a Blackberry Pearl with a QWERTY keyboard! (In Belgium, they sell the Pearl only with AZERTY keyboard).

Does anyone knows if it's possible to buy a Blackberry Pearl in the Netherlands and get a subscription with a Belgian provider (e.g. Mobistar)? Or are the BB sold in the Netherlands locked to a given provider? (like T-Mobile or KPN)??

I hope someone can help me with that. Thanks a lot!

you can purchase blackberry without a lock at several places in holland. the best shop herefor is www.smartphoneshop.nl this shop has good prices, but i dont know if they ship to belgium but you can go to their store in rotterdam.

I belief that KPN BlackBerry deices are not SIM locked (ask in a business center), but I belief it is also possible to order a querty BlackBerry in Belgium, did you ask for that?

I went to many shops in Brussels, and they all told me that the Blackberry Pearl is only available in Belgium with AZERTY keyboard. On SmartPhoneShop.be, the picture has a QWERTY keyboard, but the keyboard type is not explicitely mentioned in the specifications. So I wrote them an email.

Anyway, I can just buy the Blackberry in Holland, no problem.

With all the expatriates living in Brussels, I can't imagine that only the AZERTY keyboard is avaiable!! I'll wrirte back when I get an answer from them.

Hi everyone,

I got my answer from SmartPhoneShop.be (by email). They told me that the only BlackBerry Pearl they sell is with QWERTY keyboard!! It must be because it is a Dutch company that sells also in Belgium.
Their fast answer tells me also that they seem serious.
